Richard F. Carver, M.D. has maintained an active
plastic surgery practice in Rapid City, South Dakota since September 1992.
Prior to that time, Dr. Carver had extensive training in medicine, surgery
and plastic surgery taking him all over the country and world.
After completing a zoology degree from Syracuse
University, Dr. Carver attended the State University of New York in
Syracuse and received his M.D. degree. He entered the internship
program at New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts and
completed
an internship in general surgery.
From there, Dr. Carver completed the residency
program in general surgery ending his fourth year as chief
resident in general surgery. Dr. Carver then undertook and completed
the residency in
plastic surgery.

Dr. Carver then trained in
advanced techniques in plastic surgery in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Austria
and Italy, studying under some of the world’s most renowned surgeons.
Before coming to South Dakota Dr. Carver
maintained private practices in Tennessee and Oklahoma.
He has written and presented numerous papers on
areas of plastic surgery, including presentation of three papers to the
Philippine Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
Dr. Carver also enjoys geology, scuba diving,
history, photography, painting and travel.
Dr. Carver has four children and resides in
Rapid City.
